Who we are.
The Holiday Home Collective (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a platform that helps holiday home owners and hosts get more bookings, better reviews, and returning guests through accessible digital guides, templates, and courses. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what rights you have. What data we collect.
If you sign up for our newsletter or free checklist: your email address and optionally your first name. If you purchase a product: your name, email address, billing address (if applicable) and payment details, processed directly by our payment provider and never stored by us in readable form. If you contact us: your name, email address and message. We also collect data automatically via cookies (see the Cookies section below). We do not collect special categories of data, and this site is not directed at children under 16.
Why we use your data.
To deliver purchased digital products and process payments. To send newsletters, updates and marketing emails you’ve opted into. To answer questions and provide support. To improve the website. To comply with legal obligations such as bookkeeping.
Legal basis for processing.
Performance of a contract (to deliver what you buy). Consent (for newsletters, marketing emails and non-essential cookies, withdrawable at any time). Legitimate interest (site security and basic statistics). Legal obligation (e.g. invoice retention rules).
Do we share data with third parties?
We never sell your data. We share data only with parties that help us run the site and platform: Squarespace (our hosting and commerce platform), our payment provider, and, if used, our email marketing and analytics tools. We have data processing agreements in place where required. Some providers may process data outside the EU under appropriate safeguards such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies.
This site uses cookies to make the website function, to analyse how visitors use it, and potentially for marketing. On your first visit we ask for consent to non-essential cookies via a cookie banner. You can change your preferences at any time via your browser settings.
How long we keep your data.
Order and customer data: as long as legally required for bookkeeping (in the Netherlands, generally 7 years). Newsletter sign-ups: until you unsubscribe. Contact requests: up to 12 months after resolution.
How we protect your data.
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including a secure hosting platform with SSL encryption, and we never store payment details ourselves.
Your rights.
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete your data; object to processing; withdraw consent at any time; request your data in a portable format; and lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. We may update this policy from time to time. The most recent version is always available on this page, with the last-updated date at the top.
